The Ministry has the Honourable Minister as its Chief Political Head, while the Permanent Secretary is the Chief Accounting Officer. The Ministry is currently structured into Five (5) Professional and Seven (7) Common Service Departments, Three (3 Nos.) Service Units and Two (2 Nos.) Agencies. The Ministry also has six Zonal Offices under its supervision as follows:

ZONAL OFFICES

The Zones were created to effectively liaise with the states and other stakeholders within each Zone to effectively organize and manage inter and intra-zonal competitions among states, schools, and other institutions within each Zone. There are six (6) Zonal Offices. The Zones and States under their purview are as follows: -

i) South-West (Ibadan) -Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo, Osun

ii) South-South (Benin) -Edo, Delta, Bayelsa Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom

iii) South-East (Enugu) -Enugu, Ebony, Anambra, Imo, Abia

iv) North-East (Bauchi) -Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba Yobe, Borno, Adamawa

v) North-Central (Jos) -Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kwara, Kogi, Benue, FCT

vi) North-West (Kaduna) -Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara
