It was a moment of note-compiling when National Sports Commission Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko hosted former Director-General National Sports Commission and Deputy Chief of Staff to Imo State Governor Dr. Patrick Ekeji. The visit afforded both parties the opportunity to rub minds on issues of sports development generally. There were discussions on how to make National Institute for Sports (NIS) fit for purpose. A topic of interest to Ekeji, who was a lecturer at NIS.

The NSC Chairman took time to project the Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigeria's Sports Economy (RHINSE) vision to Dr. Ekeji who, in turn, acknowledged that the nation's sports is in good hands with Dikko and Director-General Hon. Bukola Olopade on the NSC saddle. He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for making this intentional and deliberate decision to bring back the National Sports Commission and appointing the highly experienced and qualified personalities to head the Commission and drive the expected reforms of the Nigerian sports industry.
