NSC Engages MTN Nigeria to Strengthen Private Sector Investment in Sports
In line with the National Sports Commission’s (NSC) commitment to fostering private sector participation in Nigerian sports, Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the NSC, held a strategic engagement with key executives of MTN Nigeria at their Corporate Headquarters in Lagos.
The meeting was attended by:

A Shared Vision for Sports Development
The engagement aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and the RHINSE framework (Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigeria’s Sports Economy), which aims to:
Attract and facilitate private sector investment in sports, Enhance sponsorship opportunities for Nigerian athletes & teams and Create a sustainable sports economy that complements government efforts.
MTN Nigeria, a key player in sports sponsorship, presented an overview of their contributions to Nigerian sports, including:
Sponsorship of the Super Eagles and Super Falcons, Future projections for sports investment, Challenges faced in corporate sports sponsorship & Opportunities for deeper collaboration with the NSC
Mallam Shehu Dikko also expressed appreciation for MTN’s commitment to Nigerian sports and provided insights into ongoing reforms within the NSC, aimed at creating an enabling environment for corporate investment.
Some of the Key outcomes from the meeting include: a clear roadmap for resolving challenges and maximizing sponsorship impact, Plans for enhanced collaboration between MTN, the NSC, and other sports stakeholders, The establishment of a joint strategic interface to activate and implement agreed objectives.
