NSC leaders met with Government aides to discuss People With Disabilities (PWD) sports expansion

NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko and DG Bukola Olopade convened a meeting with Musa Muhd Zaria, Kamaludeen Albarnawiand Shamsudeen to discuss sports opportunities for persons with Disabilities

NSC Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the DG Hon Bukola Olopade hosted Musa Muhd Zaria (Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker, HoR on PWD), Kamaludeen Albarnawi (Desk Officer, Disability Matters, Federal Ministry of Youths), and Shamsudeen (SA on PWD to Kaduna State Governor) to discuss expanding opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in sports.

They emphasized the need for investment and adequate support in para sports to create jobs and empower talented para-athletes across Nigeria. The Chairman assured the delegation that NSC has are very committed to advance all sports including para sports and has indeed made appreciable budget provision for para sports development and provisions of para sports equipment and facilities nationwide to support PWDs and elevate Nigeria’s presence in international para games which has consistently earned medals and glory for the country.

On his part, the NSC DG reminded the delegation that he has been for decades a keen promoter of para sports and thus he emphasized and echoed the chairman’s view and assured that para sports is in safe hands and would receive appropriate attention from the commission at all times.
