North-Central Zonal Eliminations for National Sports Festival Conclude in Jos

The battle for slots at the Ogun 2025 National Sports Festival has been concluded in Jos, Plateau State, as teams from across the North-Central zone competed in team sports for a chance to qualify for the prestigious national event.

All seven states in the zone—Benue, FCT, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau—registered at least one team in the eight designated sports: Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Cricket, Football, Handball, Hockey, Volleyball, and Abula, with only one team registering for the latter.

There was automatic qualification for Kwara (Men's Cricket) and Kogi (Women's Cricket) as they were the only states that registered for the sport.

With a limited number of teams in some categories, the zonal eliminations have now concluded.

Only the top two teams in each category have secured tickets to represent the North-Central zone at the Ogun 2025 National Sports Festival, scheduled to take place in May.

The competition was intense, with teams battling for the few available slots to showcase their talents on the national stage.

Present at the event were the Director, Press and Public Relations Unit, NSC, Mrs.kehinde Ajayi; the Zonal Coordinator, North-Central, Mr.saka Akeem and other dignitaries who graced the occasion.

Signed
